Puncture Resistance Tester

The puncture resistance of paperboard is measured as the energy required to force a puncture head of specified design through a test piece of the board under specified testing condition.
A test piece is clamped between two horizontal plates in each of which is a triangular hole. A triangular pyramid puncture head, attached to a swinging pendulum, punctures the test piece and the energy required to force it through the test piece is measured. For determining the puncture resistance of corrugated board by measuring the energy required to puncture it. Interchangeable weights supplied to cover four energy ranges.
